Fall 2010 Athletic Schedules on one page

Football starts Wednesday, Aug 18
All other Fall Sports start Monday, August 23

No athlete can turn out with any ERHS school team until he or she has completed in full all paperwork:

  • current physical, which may not expire during the season
  • parent permission
  • evidence of insurance coverage
  • emergency contact information
  • and previous school year information

All fees will be paid prior to being cleared: ASB Card - $30 and PSD user fee - $60.
ERHS Athletic Director (Dell Dittus) will be available in the main office to collect cards and issue clearances on:

Cross Country, boys and girls
3:00 on the steps to the track behind the ERHS gymnasium

Golf, boys and girls
10:00 am meeting in ERHS Library - bring parents, will cover rules and tryout procedures
2:00 pm tryouts at Lipoma Firs GC, three-day tryout period Mon-Wed.

Volleyball Tryouts, ERHS Gymnaisum - must attend both sessions for tryouts each day
Aug 23 10 am - 1 pm and 5 pm - 8pm
Aug 24 8 am - 11 am and 1 pm - 4 pm
Aug 25 10 am - 1 pm and 5 pm - 8pm

Boys Tennis, ERHS Tennis Courts
returning players will go from 2:30-4:00
new players will start at 3:30-5:00

Girls Soccer - Sparks Stadium
Player check-in starts at 4:30 PM, Practice 5-7 PM.

Boys Water Polo
Rogers HS Pool 6:30-8:30 pm

Girls Swimming
Puyallup HS Pool 6:30-8:30 pm

 

 


Bowling Captures Second State Championship
ER's Bowling Team came from behind in the last game to win their second consecutive state title over Kennewick. Shannon Dexter also came from behind on the last frame to win the individual champsionship.

Four teams win SPSL South Titles
Girls Soccer, Boys Cross Country and Girls Cross Country all captured outright SPSL South Championships while the Boys Tennis team shared the title with Puyallup. Many other teams had succssful fall seasons with second place league finishes including Girls Golf and Girls Swimming.

Cross Country wins TWO SPSL South Titles
The girls and boys Cross Country teams finished the league season undefeated after big wins against previously unbeaten Puyallup. Running on the Vikings home course, the girls won their meet 25-30 lead by junior Carly Wilczynski. The varsity boys won 27-28 and senior Chris Schroll set the pace.

Stueckle Wins Second State Track Title
Kayla Stueckle (junior) won her second state track title in the 300m hurdles in a state meet record time of 42.13. Stueckle also finished second in the 100m hurdles, third in the 200m dash and third in the long jump. Megan Albert was 11th in the high jump. The girls team earned a fourth place team trophy. For the boys, Cory Okazaki (junior) was second in the 110m high hurdles.

Softball finishes 7th
The Jaguar softball team bounced back from a first-round loss to eventual champions Kelso to win two more games and finish in 7th place in the 4A state tournament. The tema finished with a season record of 23 wins and 3 losses.

Sidor Wins State Gymnastics State Title
Senior Whitney Sidor won the vault competition at the State Gymnastics Meet, her first state title following four previous state medals, including a second place finish on the vault in 2008. Bri Howe placed 3rd on the bars and 5th on the vault this year

 

Bowlers Capture First Athletic State Title
Our Girls Bowling team won our first athletic state title February 7. You can read about their success in this News Tribune article.
 
Stueckle Wins State Track Title
In track action at state in Pasco, congratulations go to Kayla Stueckle for winning the State 4A 300 hurdles title. Only a sophomore, Stueckle is Emerald Ridge’s first track champion. She also placed 4th in the 100 hurdles, 5th in the Long Jump and helped anchor our girls 4x400 relay of Livia Mahaffie, Whitney Henderson and Alicia Brannan to 7th place and another new school record.
Alex Sears placed 4th in the boys 300 hurdles, while Sophomore Cory Okazaki was 7th in the 110 hurdles. Jordan Mirk finished 12th overall in state in the 800. News Tribune Article
 
Bri Howe is our first athletic state champion!
Congratulations to junior Brianna Howe, our first athletic state champion in any sport. Bri won the 4A Gymnastics All-Around title along with championships in three individual events: beam, bars and floor. Teammate Whitney Sidor finished eighth in the All-Around along with a second place finish on the vault and fourth on the bars.
